Parking in the back lot is just fine!

Nevermind the permit sign!

1-2 subsequent rehearsals will take place at the Idea Center with dates and times to be determined by performers and creators.

Known in theatre-speak as “divising,” we will use the experiences of real people (you!) to create a piece that will premiere on stage at 2022 Point PRIDE. If you have thoughts on the following questions, you are exactly the person who should contribute to this project.

  • What does body positivity mean to you?

  • What are your concerns regarding bodies in current times?

  • What has been the journey of your body?

  • When have you felt great in your body? When haven't you?

  • What are experiences you’ve endured or blossomed because of?

  • When have you felt accepted? When have you felt ostracized?

  • Have you always felt free to be you? Why or why not?

The devising process begins with participation through listening sessions and planned activities that encourage sharing.
Discovering patterns, commonalities, communal agreements, and any other impassioned subject matter will determine the concept and messaging of the work.

Actors and creators will then play with material using improvisation, director-led activities, and planned scenes to solidify the plot and content of the piece. Once finalized, actors will rehearse in a more traditional capacity to learn lines and  staging which readies them to perform for an audience.
